Hua: AP Credit Courses Help You Achieve a 4.9 GPA and Realize Your Dream of a Top University in Canada
Academic Background
Hua is a high school student in Canada and was planning to apply to a Canadian university when she entered Grade 12. However, the sudden outbreak of the epidemic disrupted this plan and since she couldn’t accept the online program at her original school, which had a time difference between day and night, she returned to China in the hope of finding a more suitable way of attending classes for herself.
Analysis and Planning
Hua’s original Canadian high school did not offer AP credit courses, but SMOA, which teaches in the Asia-Pacific time zone, offered a wide range of AP credit courses for students in grades 11-12, which was a pleasant surprise for Hua.
In order to enrich and improve the academic level of the student, as well as to make the Grade 12 report card more eye-catching, Hua completed the selection of AP credit courses and regular courses under the guidance of a learning coach and completed the Grade 12 study in China through SMOA as planned.
Academic Enhancement and Gains
- Earned 5 AP course credits (AP Calculus AB, AP Macroeconomics, AP Language and Composition, AP Chemistry, AP Computer Science), and 2 US High School course credits (Financial Mathematics, TOEFL course) in the first semester of grade 12
- Achieved a 4.9 GPA score in the first semester of 12th grade, ranking in the #1 position in the SMOA
- With US High School AP credits and Grade 12 US High School transcripts, not only can you apply to Canadian universities, but if you want to apply to top universities in the United States in the future, you will be more persuasive and have a higher success rate.
