- Three pathways to apply for Canadian undergraduate programs with AP credit
01 Take AP courses in regular high school
On the basis of the original general high school curriculum, students take additional AP courses for credit to supplement the pre-requisite courses and advanced courses required by the majors they are applying for, and to strengthen their international background. Different universities have different requirements for the number and subjects of AP courses, so we suggest you check the official website of the university.
University of Toronto: If students do not have high school entrance exam grades and want to apply for math, science, computer and business majors, they need to take Calculus or AP Calculus in Grade 12.
University of British Columbia: Students can use the scores of 3 AP exams instead of the college entrance exam, and the GPA of the AP courses taken in high school will be added to the GPA calculation of the application, and the scores of the AP exams (if any) will also be included in the calculation.
02 OSSD with additional AP courses
No need SAT, no need to take the AP exam, just take additional AP courses to supplement pre-major courses and upper level courses based on the original OSSD courses.
