SMOA student J, through the 8-week foreign tutoring program, not only consolidated the English ability, single subject grades from C to A, but also through the improvement of English ability to build up the confidence of each subject, promote the development of the whole subject of the U.S. High School, and then improve the overall GPA, from 3.17 to 3.67, let us congratulate student J on the short-term great progress!
Student Status
J was enrolled in a middle school in China, but after entering an international school in China, J had difficulty adapting to the differences in the curriculum and teaching methods, and the GPA in core subjects such as English was low.
In order to improve her GPA and regain confidence, J joined SMOA, hoping to get out of the current academic predicament with the help of SMOA’ s experienced foreign teachers and bilingual learning coaches.

Targeted Students of SMOA
1 Students who are going to study in U.S. high schools and foreign high schools.
- Students who lack a large number of credits in the required courses in the U.S. high school system.
- Academic foundation to avoid failing classes or getting C or D grades in the first year, which will affect the GPA in the future.
- Early transition to the all-English classroom in the U.S. high school.
2 Current U.S. high school students
- Unsatisfactory GPA affects graduation and college application.
- Can’t take enough classes to meet their needs, or don’t get good grades.
- Fewer AP classes offered, limited course selection, or unsatisfactory grades in existing AP classes.
- The school does not offer classes during the summer and winter breaks, so there is no flexibility to take U.S. high school credits.
3 Domestic international school students
- Multi-country joint application or temporary change of track, lack of necessary AP credits and US High School credits.
- Want to take AP exams, but the school is not a test center.
- Unsatisfactory GPA, biased subjects, unsatisfactory estimated scores, need to retake/appeal the exam with a low score.
