Mrs. Hall Bravo Ramírez
Mrs. Hall Bravo Ramírez is an artist and educator with seven years of teaching experience. She has taught a variety of courses, including English as a Second Language to youth in Mexico, and Spanish and Visual Art to elementary and high school students in the United States. She has a M.A. in Art Education from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and her work in film and video has garnered awards at international film festivals. Her favorite way to spend her time is creating art, surfing, reading, and exploring the city she lives in. As an educator, she is committed to designing learning environments that inspire and empower students to reach their full potential. She believes an educator’s role is to recognize and implement the reserve of knowledge that youth obtain from their cultural backgrounds and diverse experiences. She views these as pathways to life-long learning and an intellectual resource, and as a result, is committed to offering students an inclusive, equitable, and culturally relevant education.

Course Syllabus(For Reference Only)

Spanish I is an exciting time for language learners as they learn the foundational vocabulary and grammar that will set them on the course for success in Spanish II and beyond. In addition to language, students will learn about the rich culture and traditions of Latin American countries.

Course Design

Participation in this course is essential. Students will have an easier time learning Spanish if they are actively engaged in class discussions and activities. I understand that speaking in a foreign language is not always comfortable for students, and sometimes it is necessary to use English when asking clarifying questions. However, the expectation is that Spanish will be spoken in class 90% of the time.
