AP World History:Modern is the study of the foundations of what we consider modern history and the connections  between the old world and the modern world. It focuses on space (various societies around the world), time (the chronology the rise and fall of human societies from 500AD to modern day), systems of beliefs, and the interaction of these societies when they met each other at different times in history (through conquests, colonization and settlements, and trade).

AP World History:Modern is the analytical and comparative study of human societies and the systems they have put in place.  Students will develop a thematic approach of various historical eras, learning to identify similar patterns and differences, in order to formulate and express a judgment through essays and class presentation.
