In late October, St. Mary's Global System Olympics Subject Knowledge Competition was in full swing. Students from St. Mary's Wuhan Campus, St. Mary's Pinghu Campus, St. Mary's Haimen Campus and other campuses enthusiastically formed teams and competed against each other, racing against time with their intellect and wisdom, and challenging the top students of campuses through their daily learning and accumulation.

What is St. Mary's Olympics?
St. Mary's Olympics is a high-level subject knowledge competition that combines academics, competitiveness, and fun, and it is also a quarterly academic event held at St. Mary's global campuses.

The St. Mary's quarterly Olympics event is not only a way for students to review before midterm exams, but also to demonstrate what they've learned by competing against each other, either as a team or individually, on other campuses.
As an incentive for students to participate in quarterly assessments, this experience will also be a strong part of their resume when applying to colleges. Each winner, as well as the top three, will be awarded an honorary certificate.
Teachers are also very excited about organizing and managing this event. Even though they may only be responsible for one campus, they are very happy to see how well all the students have mastered their subject matter.
Another benefit of the event is that participating students are rewarded with extra credit, which greatly improves GPAs and all performance evaluations.
Overall, the Olympics event will be a huge help to everyone involved. Of course, it is also a great opportunity to meet other students and have fun with knowledge.

"St. Mary's Olympics is a competition that tests a student's academic ability and understanding of interdisciplinary courses. This competition actually motivates students to work hard and fight for the ultimate winner of this competition.
My team and I won the first place in the Macroeconomics Olympics. In order to achieve satisfactory results in this competition, I have been taking notes, creating mind maps, and developing a deep understanding of the course material from the beginning of the semester. I attribute my team winning this award to our tenacity and cooperation.
By participating in this competition, I gained a deeper understanding of Macroeconomics, and I was able to apply what I learned to solve problems more easily. This competition demonstrated my passion for the subject; it also showed that I am a persistent and hard-working student. As a result, admissions officers will have the opportunity to get to know me better, and I can confidently demonstrate to them my qualifications and strengths in choosing a relevant major when applying to colleges.

"I think Olympics is an event that allows students from all of our St. Mary's campuses to come together and compete in their own academic endeavors. In my opinion, this event is very meaningful because it allows us to review and reinforce what we have learned in the past. Since Olympics has three levels: easy, medium, and difficult, we prepare for the competition by exploring new knowledge that we might encounter.
In this year's Olympics-Precalculus competition, three teams from our Pinghu Campus took the first, second and third place. In the last two rounds of the championship overtime, we had a solid experience of "internal competition". Although my team eventually found the correct answer as well, we were slightly slower in solving the problem, and we ended up taking third place.
I believe that we wouldn't have won this award without the hard work and patient guidance of our teachers, as well as our own diligence and effort in our daily studies. I have been looking forward to this event since I first participated during my first year in high school. The sense of accomplishment that my efforts are recognized by my teachers and classmates is the best fuel to motivate myself to go to the next level. When I succeed, it gives me confidence and motivation to move forward; when I fail, it makes me stop and check my mistakes.
